The word of the month for April is GRATITUDE.
Gratitude means “I’m so thankful!”
When we thank someone, we are showing “gratitude.”
Gratitude is appreciating, recognizing, and being thankful for what you have. Showing gratitude means that we:
(1) Appreciate the people, things, and opportunities we have (our parents, our school, our activities)
(2) Recognize and take notice of these great people, things, and opportunities so that they know we value them
(3) Show thanks for these people, things, and opportunities.
When we appreciate, recognize, and show thanks for what we have, we are showing gratitude.
The word of the month for March is SELF RELIANCE.
Self Reliance means “I can do it by myself!”. When we rely on ourselves and we have a “can do attitude” we’re showing self reliance.
Self-reliance in many ways, is self trust. It’s the ability to rely on our own powers, judgments, and abilities.
The word of the month for February is SELF-DISCIPLINE.
Self-discipline is doing what you are supposed to (getting the job done), even when you don’t feel like it. It is a great lesson for the young students and a good reminder for us as adults.
Self-discipline is what makes us achieve our goals at home, at school (or work) and in martial arts!
